Osteopathy is a holistic system of healthcare that emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal itself. Osteopaths believe that the structure of the body affects its function, and vice versa. Osteopaths use a variety of hands-on techniques, including massage, stretching, and joint manipulation, to help the body heal and maintain its natural balance.

Osteopathy is based on the following principles:

The body is a self-healing organism.
Structure and function are interrelated.
The body is a unit.
Blood vessels, nerves, and fascia (connective tissue) are vital to health.

Joe is a recent graduate from the University of St. Marks and St. Johns, where he earned a master’s degree in Osteopathic Medicine. During his four-year educational journey, he gained hands-on experience in the university’s clinic, refining clinical skills and discovering a true passion in osteopathy.

Coming from a rugby background, Joe approaches wellness by empowering the body. His expertise includes observational and physical assessment, along with various treatment modalities – including soft and deep tissue release, stretching, joint mobilisation and articulation, muscle energy techniques, joint manipulation, and craniosacral osteopathy.

Originally from Cardiff, Wales, Joe moved to the Lake District a few years ago. Despite this northbound shift, he chose Plymouth for his further education, dedicating himself to Osteopathic Medicine for the past four years. Rugby has been a significant part of Joe’s life, leading him to coach and referee youth teams within the Cardiff district. Beyond sports, he has a deep passion for travel and adventure. Recently, Joe and his father embarked on a journey to conquer the Seven Summits, starting with Mount Kilimanjaro in 2022. These diverse experiences, coupled with a commitment to personal growth, equip Joe to provide comprehensive osteopathic care, guiding others towards better health and well-being.
